Planning To Go Away With Friends?

Going away on holiday with friends may seem like a very exciting prospect to begin with; however, this great idea can soon turn into a nightmarish headache. You and your friends may agree with a lot of things in life, but when it comes to holidays, you may not always see eye to eye. For example, you may love nothing more than spending lazy days on a beach with the sun on your face, whereas your friend(s) may prefer exploring tourist attractions such as museums and parks.

Below, are our top tips on how to plan sun holidays with friends and return still liking each other and not enemies.

Don’t leave the planning down to one person

The first golden rule in planning sun holidays with friends is to share the planning. Now, there always tends to be one person in a group who is really good at organising gatherings. However, if holiday plans are left to one person, resentment will most likely start to build in them, as they will feel like they are doing all the hard work. Instead, divide the planning up into sections between your friends, so that everyone is responsible for the success of the holiday.

Keep sun holidays small

This may be hard, but keep the number of people going on the sun holiday small and manageable. Yes, a big group going on holiday may seem a great idea at first, but a fall out can soon be on the cards, if people get annoyed that they are not doing what they want to. At the end of the day, everyone has spent their hard earned cash on this trip, so everyone will want to make the most of it. So, stick to a small group of friends rather than a small army.

Go for all inclusive sun holidays

Going all inclusive for your sun holiday is the best option. If you go self-catering, cooking will undoubtedly be left down to one or two people of the group, no matter how much you try and share the work load. This can soon end in arguments due to frustration. Also, whilst you may love to try traditional cuisine of the country you are visiting; your friend(s) may not and want to stick to foods that look similar to what they would eat at home. All inclusive sun holidays not only offer both these options, but you can also sit together, so no one will feel left out or go hungry.

How clean are you?

Whilst you don’t care leaving things untidy and messy, this may be a pet hate of your friend(s). Be mindful and clean up after yourself, as this way you can avoid silly arguments, which could potentially ruin your holiday. At the end of the day what you class as a clean and tidy room, may not be the same for other people.

Relax

Sun holidays are all about relaxing and escaping from the stresses of every day and work life. Don’t end up winding yourself up because your friend(s) has a bad habit, which is starting to get on your nerves. So what if they spend what seems like a decade in the shower or seem to be able to create as much noise as possible in the apartment? Either talk about it or let it go before an argument happens.

If being around your friends all the time is starting to frustrate you a little and you are craving some alone time, don’t be worried about offending them by wanting to do something alone. You are allowed to do what you want to and alone time on holiday can be very therapeutic. Even if it’s only for an hour or so, you and your friend (s) will both benefit from it.
